Reports: Begala and Carville Join Clinton Campaign

By SteveK

FNC’s Major Garrett reports that CNN Contributors Paul Begala and James Carville have joined the campaign team of Sen. Hillary Clinton. The duo previously held advisory positions with President Bill Clinton.

According to Garrett, their role will be as, “top day-to-day advisers,” and, “will now carry greater weight than that of the original team.”

TVNewser has a call in to CNN for comment.

> Update: Politico has a direct denial from Begala and TPM Election Central has a direct denial from Carville. As of now, it seems Garrett received wrong information.

> Update, update: CNN.com is now officially reporting the story to be false.

> Update, update, update: Garrett tells Shepard Smith: “I may be being used as a reporter in that very private fight that now has spilled out somewhat publicly. All I know is that I’m confident in what I’ve reported. I’m confident that this will be dealt with one way or another tomorrow, and if its not dealt with its because Hillary Clinton said, ‘no.'”
