FNC’s Shepard Smith told the San Jose Mercury News that before he re-signed with Fox News Channel in November, he was approached by broadcast networks, and he gave their offers serious consideration.
Smith went on to explain his decision-making process. “I’ve been here since it started and I love working for Roger (Ailes) and I felt it would all work out,” he said. “But these are big decisions that you make, affecting the course of your career. Of course, I wanted to explore options as much as I could under the terms of my contract. But I’m glad to be staying.”
