> A tipster hints: “Roger Ailes is on a tear. Major shakeup this fall… new people coming in to help the old.” True? Update: 12:35pm: “I wouldn’t say that Ailes is ‘on a tear,'” an e-mailer says. “He simply wants to ‘up the standards’ as he has said in terms of quality of programming. It’s cyclical in terms of demands. When things start to slip, Ailes gets aggressive. Regarding the old coming back to help the new, some people may be coming back ‘downstairs’ from the executive offices to guide things back to where they were.”

> Who was Jack Cafferty talking about yesterday when he complained about “some prudes in authority today because the regular executive producer is off?” Apparently one of the Cafferty File e-mails didn’t get “past the censors…”
