University of Missouri assistant professor of communication Melissa Click has been charged with assault following an incident in November in which she intimidated and physically blocked a group of student reporters from covering a protest on campus.

The Kansas City Star reports Click was charged with third degree assault, which carries a possible 15-day jail sentence.

Last month, a group of Missouri state legislators sent a letter to the University which called for Click to be fired.
