New Squawk Box: Boring & Slow?

By Brian

Following day one of the CNBC revamp, an insider writes in:

100 complaints? Try close to 500, and they came flooding in to other shows too. Perhaps viewers wouldn’t have noticed or would have forgiven the new graphic roll-out (which actually has some state-of-the-art and fantastic aspects to it) had the Early Squawk been hot and exciting. Consensus? The Kernen-Quintanilla-Quick show was painfully boring and slow, which only made Mark Haines and Faber look like the Rockettes when they burst in at 9am live from the NYSE. The 9am was great, with lots of energy so it was a big contrast with the three (K-Q-Q) earlier talent, which btw CNBC misguidedly feels might be the ‘future.’ Then when the 9 was over, Ted David and Liz Claman sparkled and were a great segue so everyone stopped holding their breath. No worries with Sue Herera or Bill Griffeth either. Mark Hoffman handed out Squawk ‘Box Lunches’ and some swag which was nice and thanked everyone.”
