CNN scored a major exclusive Monday evening as it obtained amateur video of a seaplane crashing into the water off Miami Beach. CNN producer Kim Segal in Miami was apparently instrumental in obtaining the tape.
“That’s a truly remarkable piece of film,” Robert Francis, the former chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board, told CNN. He said it “will now allow the NTSB to prioritize, a little bit, what they’re looking for in terms of the wreckage.”
The Associated Press moved stills of CNN’s video on the wire this evening. CNN has replayed the video dozens of times during primetime, presenting it zoomed in, zoomed out, faster, slower, and over and over again…
