NBC’s Nicolle Wallace: ‘The Party I Worked for for 20 Years Died in This Room Tonight’

After Donald Trump‘s speech to the Republican National Convention late Thursday, Nicolle Wallace, the NBC News political analyst and former communications chief for President George W. Bush, said “the Republican Party that I worked for for 20 years died in this room tonight.”

“We are now represented as a party by a man who believes in protectionism, isolationism, and nativism,” Wallace said. “And those were the forces that George W. Bush and I believe John McCain too were most worried about … the voters picked this guy. This is where the Republican Party is right now … but the party I was a part of for two decades, is dead.”
