Morning Show Ratings: Week of Sept. 2

By A.J. Katz

As expected, the highly-anticipated return of Hoda Kotb on Sept. 3 lifted Today to a No. 1 finish in all relevant categories last week. That’s now 13 weeks this season to-date that Today has finished No. 1 among adults 25-54 and in average total viewers.

The NBC morning show also managed to average its largest total viewer audience since the week of May 27, a 14-week high.

Despite finishing second in the key measurements this past week, GMA saw its largest total audience since June, and its largest A25-54 audience since the week of June 10. GMA also remains the No. 1 morning show in total viewers, a title it has held for seven consecutive years.

Additionally, due to Labor Day (9/2/19), GMA, Today and CTM’s Monday telecasts were coded as specials and are excluded from the weekly averages.  ABC’s, CBS’ and NBC’s averages are based on four days (Tue-Fri).
