Morning Show Ratings: Week of August 11

morningshowanchors2014“Good Morning America” wins another week with a +557,000 viewer lead on No. 2 “Today,” but “GMA” was the only morning show to lose viewers compared to the same week last year.

“GMA” was down -2% in viewers and down -1% in the demo. NBC’s “Today” show saw total viewer growth of +4% year-over-year, but was down -2% in the A25-45 demo. “Today” has narrowed the total viewer gap with “GMA” for the third straight week.

Only “CBS This Morning” saw growth in both total viewers (+6%) as well as the A25-54 demo (+3%) and remains at its closest competitive position with “Today” in 20 years.

All three shows were up week-to-week with much coverage from Ferguson, MO.

The averages for the week of August 11, 2014:

  • Total Viewers: ABC: 4.983M / NBC: 4.426M / CBS: 2.835M
  • A25-54 viewers: ABC: 1.878M / NBC: 1.665M / CBS: 886,000
