The summer interns of NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams are writing about their experiences on the Daily Nightly. Highlights:

Casey Dolan says she was “actually eager to transcribe tapes and even rise at 5:30 a.m. to log the early morning call…”

Michael Amalfe says “the combination of the long hours and lack of pay made me thankful I don’t have a girlfriend…”

Alex Lebowitz says Williams is the “second funniest” man in the building (right behind Conan O’Brien)…

And Garrett Haake says he thought about giving up on journalism until he “working side-by-side with” NBCers and felt refocused.
