In Profile: Stelter, Hall, Gutfeld

CNN’s senior media correspondent Brian Stelter recently spoke with a group of aspiring journalists about his mentor, the late David Carr. The Los Angeles Loyolan published some of Stelter’s comments made at the 31st annual ACP National College Journalism Convention.

I actually do my own makeup before every show, there isn’t a glam squad waiting on me each morning to arrive at work, it’s just something I enjoy doing.

Fox News Channel’s Greg Gutfeld is praised in the New Yorker as he leaves “Red Eye” to prepare for a new gig, hosting a weekend primetime show on FNC. Kelefa Sanneh of the New Yorker:

For all his seeming clumsiness, Gutfeld had a remarkable knack for saying ridiculous things without getting himself fired. (When one guest, a musician, set his electric guitar ablaze, Gutfeld was afraid that he might face punishment; he concluded, when no punishment came, that none of the executives stayed up late enough to watch his show).
