So far, so good for Chuck Todd and “Meet the Press.”
Preliminary ratings are in for Todd’s debut yesterday, and according to Nielsen’s fast program ratings for September 7, “Meet” won in both total viewers and the A25-54 demo. The program, which featured Todd’s interview with President Obama, drew 2.977 viewers and 804,000 demo viewers. The victory marks the show’s first win in viewers or the demo since February.
“We couldn’t be more proud of Chuck’s first show and are so appreciative of the viewers that turned to ‘Meet the Press’ this Sunday,” an NBC spokesperson tells TVNewser. “At the same time, we know that one week does not equal a trend and expanding our regular audience will take a slow build week to week.”
We’ll have the final Sunday show ratings on Thursday.
