Hemmer’s “Enormous” Opportunity At FNC

In the midst of the hurricane, we must reference Bill Hemmer‘s long hours. In his first full day as a Fox News anchor, the former CNNer appeared in the 11am, noon, 3pm, and 5pm hours. Highlights from the morning paper coverage of his new job:

> Hemmer’s noon time slot isn’t primetime, but it is “probably the best the new kid on the block can expect,” Tim Cuprisin writes. “This is a tough lineup to crack,” Hemmer says. “They don’t lose a single hour when it comes to households, when it comes to demographics, no matter how you slice the ratings.”

> “Fox News Channel was not the only suitor to come calling,” according to Tribune: “I had some other opportunities that I had given great thought to, but the opportunity at Fox, once I left CNN and once it presented itself to me, I saw as enormous.”

> Hemmer’s summer highlights, according to the Orlando Sentinel: “He rattles off the highlights of a busy summer: Working on his house outside New York City. Undergoing Lasik surgery…Attending a family reunion. Fly-fishing in Wyoming. Landing a new job.”
