‘GMA’ Profiles Controversial ‘My Husband’s Not Gay’ Reality Show on TLC

By Brian Flood

“Good Morning America” profiled the controversial new TLC reality show “My Husband’s Not Gay,” about men who say they are attracted to men but do not identify themselves as gay. Over 70,000 people have signed a petition to stop the show that TLC calls “unconventional Mormon marriages.” The petition is not against gay men or the LGBT community. In fact, it supports them, saying the show “promotes the false and dangerous idea that gay people can and should choose to be straight in order to be part of their faith communities.”

Robin Roberts ends the segment by saying the “gay community is really fired up” and that “to even give the idea that it [being gay] is a choice can be very dangerous, especially for young people who are dealing with their sexuality and trying to figure things out.”
