Before rangers confirmed that boy scout Michael Auberry had been found alive, CNN correspondent Bob Franken was careful to report that there may be new developments in the case. It was almost comical as Franken minced his words:
“Here’s what they’re saying. They have heard there may be, may be, a possible development. And they’re going to try and confirm that… this is the case…
So what we’re being told is there may be a development. We don’t know what the development is. They don’t know what the development is. But the possibility is that we’ll have some news. The possibility will be that it’s been a false alarm.”
