Gadi Schwartz Named NBC News Now Anchor

By A.J. Katz

NBC News correspondent and the co-host of Snapchat’s Stay Tuned Gadi Schwartz has been named the new host of NBC News Now’s 8 pm hour.

Schwartz will lead a new program on NBC News’ ad-supported streaming service, Now Tonight with Gadi Schwartz, launching in February, NBC News Now executive in charge Janelle Rodriguez announced Monday. The program will originate from Los Angeles, making this one of the only national news broadcasts originating daily from the West Coast.

Schwartz is replacing Joshua Johnson, whose 8 p.m. NBC News Now offering Now Tonight with Joshua Johnson was canceled last month.

Schwartz is a familiar face to NBC News Digital audiences. He helped launch Stay Tuned on Snapchat over five years ago. He also hosted The Overview on Peacock and already appears on NBC News Now. Since joining NBC News in 2016 as a correspondent, he has covered a range of pressing issues across all NBC News platforms, most notably persistent immigration issues at the U.S.-Mexico border.
