Willow Bay, whose TV news credits include co-anchor of ABC’s Good Morning America Sunday, correspondent for NBC’s Today show, CNN anchor, and co-host of NBA Inside Stuff, has been named dean of the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.

Bay, whose husband is Disney chairman and CEO Bob Iger, will be the first female dean of USC Annenberg.

Since 2014, Bay has been the director of the USC Annenberg School for Journalism. In that capacity, she introduced the school’s Bachelor of Arts in Journalism degree program and oversaw the first group of the Master of Science in Journalism program.

“Willow Bay is exactly the right person to lead USC Annenberg at this important time, given the dramatic changes in communications and journalism,” said USC provost Michael Quick. “Our students, faculty and staff will greatly benefit from Willow’s expertise as they grapple with the ever-evolving world of social media, print and broadcast journalism and converged communication.

In addition to NBC, ABC and CNN, Bay has also filled in as an anchor on MSNBC, contributed to Bloomberg TV, and was the executive producer and host of Lifetime Television’s Spotlight 25.
