The Los Angeles Times profiled Fox & Friends co-hosts Brian Kilmeade, Ainsley Earhardt and Steve Doocy for a piece out this morning. It primarily focused on the their unique relationship with President Trump. Based on his Twitter account, Fox and Friends seems to be the commander-in-chief’s favorite show right now, (he tweeted at the program twice last Tuesday), and as the article states, the hosts will almost always support him.
When Trump has a good day, he does really well on Fox & Friends. The day after his widely praised address to Congress, rock anthems My Hero by Foo Fighters and Bachman-Turner Overdrive’s Takin’ Care of Business accompanied the segments on his speech.
When the story is not so good for the administration — such as the executive order on immigration that was blocked by the courts — the missteps are reported by the opinionated co-hosts with commentary that provides, at minimum, the benefit of the doubt.

While it’s evident that the trio are big time supporters of the president, Kilmeade claims that “he hasn’t always gotten a free pass” on the program.
“When Donald Trump said George Bush lied about weapons of mass destruction, I let him know that is absolutely not true,” Kilmeade said. “When he went after Megyn Kelly, I defended her, not because we were friends, but because he was wrong about her ratings and her skill.”
Kilmeade also says that it makes him uncomfortable when Pres. Trump refers to the press as “the enemy.”
He made a similar point when he spoke with us last June while in Orlando covering the Pulse nightclub massacre. “I think anytime you ban a news outlet no matter how popular or unpopular they might be, I think it’s a problem, and I don’t think that’s ever positive,” Kilmeade told us. “I mean, my goodness, if you Google my name there are a lot of negative stories there. But if I had the power as a presidential candidate, I wouldn’t ban any single outlet.”
