FNC’s International Distribution: “Interest In The Channel Is Growing”

By Brian

The Hollywood Reporter analyzes FNC’s two recent moves to increase its international distribution: “While Fox News executives say there are no immediate plans to start a branded international channel — a la CNN International or BBC World Service — that doesn’t mean that they’re ignoring the world.” “Interest in the channel is growing,” senior VP Janet Alshouse says.

“Judging from the e-mail received at Fox News headquarters in New York — and feedback from distributors worldwide — less than half of the Fox News worldwide audience is made up of Americans who are living overseas,” Paul Gough writes. “The rest are foreigners who want to know more about what’s happening in the United States.”

“It’s a draw in many, many cases,” Alshouse says. “There are people all over the world who like America and have become Fox fans, very similar to what we have in the United States.”
