In response to Julia Angwin’s Wall Street Journal story, A FOX News insider said: “There really wasn’t any news in that story. Everyone in the cable industry knows we’re speaking with Time Warner and we need carriage in Manhattan to launch the channel. We’re not even close to an agreement…perhaps the reporter was mistakenly led to believe a deal is imminent…it’s not. And the fact that Ailes is reluctant to launch the channel without adequate distribution is well known and he said this publicly during the Auletta interview in March. We’re surprised the Journal would print a such a non-story, let alone put it on the front page of the Marketplace section.”
