“Eyebrow-Raising Expletive” On Friday’s CBS Evening News

“CBS News left an eyebrow-raising expletive in view on its early evening broadcast” on Friday, the New York Daily News reports.

“The censorship slip came in a story about a sick hoax played on a woman whose mother had died at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. CBS said the woman got an E-mail from someone using the hospital’s address who wrote that ‘through some groundbreaking medical experiments’ the mother had been brought back to life. When the woman asked a question, the hoaxer replied with an obscenity that the CBS reporter telling the story didn’t specify.”

But the e-mail appeared on-screen, and the curse words were visible. “No, actually, you stupid, cunt bitch, she’s dead. Ha, ha, ha,” it said. “CBS told viewers it regretted the error in an on-air apology,” according to the Daily News…
