Evening News Ratings: Week of Nov. 30

By Chris Ariens

NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt was the most-watched evening newscast last week in both total viewers and the A25-54 demo, and it was also the only broadcast to see overall growth compared to the same week last year.

With expanded coverage on all networks following Wednesday’s terror attack in San Bernardino, Nightly News was up +2 percent in viewers and up +4 in the demo year-over-year. The CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley was up the most in viewers vs. last year: +6 percent, but flat in the demo. ABC’s World News Tonight with David Muir was up +1 in viewers and down -1 percent in the demo. Nightly News’s unbeaten streak among viewers now extends to 6 months.

Due to Thursday Night Football, CBS’s average is based on four days (Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri.) The averages for ABC and NBC are based on 5 days.
