Ed Bradley Dead: “We’ll Miss Him” As A Journalist, A Friend, & A Foundation At CBS

CBS News president Sean McManus spoke to reporters outside the CBS Broadcast Center around 2:20pm. Here’s an excerpt of his remarks:

“You don’t replace a man like Ed Bradley at any news organization. He is a legend. We’ll miss his work. But I think just as important, we’re going to miss Ed Bradley the man. I don’t think anyone has handled the news business with the kind of sensitivity and credibility that Ed had. I just saw Mike Wallace doing an interview. And Mike’s summation of Ed was simply that he was a damn good reporter. And he was a damn good reporter. We’ll miss him as a journalist and we’re going to miss him just as much as a man, as a friend and as a foundation at CBS News.”
