Dr. Nancy Snyderman and Crew Now In Mandatory Quarantine

Dr Nancy Snyderman Ebola reportAs we reported yesterday, NBC News chief medical editor Dr. Nancy Snyderman was spotted out and about Thursday in Hopewell, NJ, despite being in a self-imposed quarantine following potential exposure to Ebola while on a reporting trip to Africa earlier this month. One of Snyderman’s cameramen, freelancer Ashoka Mukpo, was diagnosed with the disease on Oct. 2 and was flown to Nebraska for treatment last Sunday.

The New Jersey Department of Health issued a mandatory quarantine order last night for Snyderman and the other crew members who returned to the U.S. on Monday. From the AP:

The state Health Department told The Associated Press the crew remains symptom-free and that there is no reason for concern of exposure to the deadly virus to the community. Citing privacy concerns, department spokeswoman Donna Leusner would not give further details, including who violated the agreement and how the state learned of a violation.
