Network news anchors will begin descending on Cuba later this week for President Obama’s historic visit to the island nation, the first visit to Cuba by an American president in 88 years.
ABC’s David Muir has secured the big get: President Obama himself for a sit-down interview scheduled for Monday. Muir anchored from Cuba in January 2015 a month after a surprise return to U.S. diplomatic relations with Cuba. It on that day, Dec. 17, 2014 Muir sat down with Obama at the White House to talk about what led to renewed relations. In that interview, Pres. Obama didn’t rule out a trip to Cuba. 15 months to the day later, he is on the verge of that trip.

NBC’s Lester Holt will also anchor Nightly News from Havana Sunday and Monday. Holt will interview Ambassador Jeffrey DeLaurentis. Chief foreign affairs correspondent Andrea Mitchell, who has closely covered the U.S.-Cuban relationship for decades, will also report for NBC and anchor her MSNBC show from there.
CBS News Correspondent Margaret Brennan is traveling with the president and will report for all CBS News broadcasts and platforms. CBS Evening News anchor Scott Pelley was the only anchor in Havana the night the policy shift was announced.
Erin Burnett and Chris Cuomo will anchor CNN’s coverage. Senior White House correspondent Jim Acosta, Havana-based correspondent Patrick Oppmann, and correspondent Ed Lavandera will report.
Fox News Channel’s White House Correspondent Kevin Corke and Fox News Radio’s White House Correspondent Jon Decker will be live in Cuba covering the president’s trip.
