CNN congressional correspondent Dana Bash, who you might imagine relaxes by reading the Congressional Quarterly, has a far, far more geeky was of kicking back–she’s a massive fan of Donny and Marie Osmond. Yep.

The story was first reported by New York Times chief Washington correspondent Carl Hulse, who described standing next to Bash outside the Senate on Tuesday when “she got the news that she had scored backstage passes to that night’s Donny and Marie show at the National Theater. You would have thought the Beatles were back.”

Hulse obtained the above photographs of Bash as an eight-year-old girl with her brother, Donny and Marie, and then again this week. “I’ve interviewed presidents and other politicians and have met my fair share of celebs, but seeing Donny and Marie again as an adult was a natural high,” Bash told TVNewser. “They hold a special place in my heart. I’m not afraid to admit it. I own it. Their talent is unmatched.”
