“Bush Makes Me Sick,” GMA Weekend EP Writes In 18-Month Old E-Mail

By Brian

Be careful who you e-mail. Matt Drudge has obtained and published a random 18-month-old e-mail from GMA Weekend EP John Green. In the message, sent during a presidential debate on Sept. 30, 2004, Green says “Bush makes me sick.” “If he uses the ‘mixed messages’ line one more time, I’m going to puke,” he wrote.

During the presidential campaign, George Bush repeatedly accused John Kerry of sending “mixed messages.” Right around the time of Green’s Blackberry message, Bush said: “I don’t see how you can lead this country to succeed in Iraq if you say wrong war, wrong time, wrong place. What message does that send our troops? What message does that send to our allies? What message does that send the Iraqis?”

(The word “mixed” was used twelve times in the debate. The word “message” was used twenty six times.)

“The blunt comments by Green…further reveal the inner workings of the nation’s news outlets,” Drudge says. It doesn’t take a genius to analyze the interesting timing of this apparent leak…

> Update: 3:30pm: Drudge quotes a friend of Green’s at ABC: “John feels so badly about this email. He is a straight shooter and great producer who is always fair. That said, he deeply regrets the sentiment expressed in the email and the embarrassment it causes ABC News.”
