David Bauder of the Associated Press writes about CNN Headline News host Glenn Beck‘s journey from a botched surgery, to a bedside video that got huge attention and now his newest crusade.
Bauder writes that Beck has now turned his problems after hemorrhoid surgery into a crusade on his HLN and radio shows relating to the American health care system. Beck made the issue the main topic on his first HLN show back.
Beck’s surgery complications took a national interest when he posted a video on his web site in which he says he became “full fledged suicidal” after his surgery went “horribly awry.” The AP article notes that after the Drudge Report picked up the video (which was a link to the TVNewser story on Beck’s surgery), the view count reached nearly 800,000.
Now Beck says he is the story as well. “I was on ‘Good Morning America’ talking about my butt surgery, for crying out loud,” he said in the AP interview. “You want to talk about the butt of the joke? That’s me.”
