Pres. Trump explained that a remark he made about Sweden’s open door immigration policy during his rally on Saturday, was learned by watching Fox News’s Tucker Carlson Friday night.
Carlson’s guest, filmmaker Ami Horowitz, talked about an “absolute surge in both gun violence and rape in Sweden once they began this open door policy. They know this crime is happening, they can feel it, but they would refer to the cause behind it and say ‘it is just happening, it’s men who are raping people, not the refugees.'”
The next day at this rally in Melbourne, Fl, “you look at what’s happening last night in Sweden. Sweden! Who would believe this? Sweden, they took in large numbers and they are having problems like they never thought possible.”
On Sunday, Trump tweeted that he indeed got his information from watching Fox News.
My statement as to what's happening in Sweden was in reference to a story that was broadcast on @FoxNews concerning immigrants & Sweden.

“Donald Trump has an apparatus available to him as president of the United States, an intelligence apparatus, that can get him the data and the facts. He is instead choosing a Tucker Carlson. That is not only humorous, it’s a little disconcerting,” said national security analyst Juliet Kayam on CNN this morning, which may have been what Trump was watching when he sent this tweet.
Give the public a break – The FAKE NEWS media is trying to say that large scale immigration in Sweden is working out just beautifully. NOT!
