Working her first red carpet event last night for NBC’s pre-Golden Globes special, Jenna Bush Hager misspoke, calling the film Hidden Figures, “Hidden Fences,” conflating it with Fences, another nominated film with a predominantly black cast. (Michael Keaton would do the same later in the night during the ceremony.) Bush Hager took the time this morning to apologize for the flub. “I have seen both movies. I thought they were both brilliant. If I offended people I am deeply sorry. Y’all know I’m not perfect,” said Bush Hager alongside co-hosts Al Roker and Natalie Morales on the third hour of the Today show.
“Look, I forgot Braveheart when I was talking to Mel Gibson,” said Roker. “And you called Jessica Biel, Jessica Alba,” Morales said, adding, “We all have our moments.” Watch:
