CBS’ “Face the Nation” won on July 28, but ABC’s “This Week” was right on its heels in second place. It was the largest Total Viewer margin victory for ABC over NBC’s “Meet the Press,” which was third in both ratings measurements, in nearly 14 years.
“This Week” is also showing the most Total Viewer growth compared to the same week last year. The show is up +28% in Total Viewers and +6% in the A25-54 demographic. Univision’s “Al Punto” is also up across the board, +10% in Total Viewers and +17% in the demo. “Fox News Sunday” (+4 / -4%) was up in Total Viewers but down in the demo, while “Face the Nation” (-5% / -12%) was down across the board. (“Meet the Press” was preempted last year for NBC’s coverage of the Olympics.)
Cable replays of “Fox News Sunday” averaged a combined 1,903,000 Total Viewers and 369,000 A25-54 viewers. Rebroadcasts of “Meet the Press” delivered an additional 1,080,000 Total Viewers and 334,000 A25-54 viewers.
“Face the Nation” is based on the first half-hour only, as the full contiguous hour aired in just 66% of the country.
