50th Season Premiere of 60 Minutes Is a Top 5 Show

60 Minutes’ 50th anniversary season premiere was the No. 3 show for the week.

With a lift from it lead-in, the overtime Green Bay Packers win over the Cincinnati Bengals, the iconic newsmagazine drew 14.83 million total viewers, up +3 percent from last season’s premiere.

60 Minutes also saw increases in the key demos over last season’s premiere: up +6 percent in adults 25-54 and up +4 percent in adults 18-49.

The 50th season premiere featured Scott Pelley’s story about the effect future hurricanes could have on U.S. cities, Lesley Stahl’s interview with Sen. John McCain and Oprah Winfrey’s debut 60 report on a divided America.
