Secret Headquarters is openly a ratings winner for Paramount+.

The streaming platform announced Wednesday that the family superhero film has set a new record as the most watched original movie on Paramount+.

“Secret Headquarters has rocketed to superhero status on Paramount+ as a must-watch summer family film, breaking the viewership record for an original movie in the first week of release,” Domenic DiMeglio, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Paramount Streaming, said in a statement. “We’re thrilled audiences have fallen in love with this fun, action-packed adventure.”

The action-packed film stars Owen Wilson as Jack Kincaid, who is chosen by an alien artifact to inherit its powers and protect Earth under the superhero guise of The Guard. Jack’s superhero duties drive a wedge between him and his son Charlie. When Charlie throws a birthday party at Jack’s home, he discovers a secret superhero’s headquarters, uncovering his father’s secret identity. When Charlie’s dad runs into trouble, it’s up to Charlie and his friends to save the world. The cast includes Walker Scobell, Jesse Williams, Keith L. Williams, Momona Tamada, Michael Peña, Abby James Witherspoon, Kezii Curtis and Jessie Mueller.

Earlier this month, Paramount+ also announced that Star Trek: Strange New Worlds had set a new franchise record as the most-watched Star Trek series debut over its first 90 days on the streamer.
