Disney+’s Pinocchio and 5 Other Trailers You Missed

Today’s trailer roundup includes Disney+’s Pinocchio, Hulu’s Handmaid’s Tale Season 5, Prime Video’s Goodnight Mommy, Netflix’s Slumberland and Wednesday and Apple TV+’s Central Park Season 3.

Disney+’s Pinocchio premieres on Sept. 8. Robert Zemeckis directs this live action retelling of the tale of a wooden puppet who embarks on a thrilling adventure to become a real boy. Tom Hanks stars as Geppetto, the wood carver who builds and treats Pinocchio (Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) as if he were his own son. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is Jiminy Cricket, who serves as Pinocchio’s guide as well as his “conscience,” Cynthia Erivo is the Blue Fairy, Keegan-Michael Key is “Honest” John, Lorraine Bracco is Sofia the Seagull and Luke Evans is The Coachman. Also in the cast are Kyanne Lamaya as Fabiana and Jaquita Ta’Le as her marionette Sabina, Giuseppe Battiston as Stromboli and Lewin Lloyd as Lampwick.

Season 5 of Handmaid’s Tale comes to Hulu on Sept. 14. June faces consequences for killing Commander Waterford while struggling to redefine her identity and purpose. The widowed Serena attempts to raise her profile in Toronto as Gilead’s influence creeps into Canada. Commander Lawrence works with Aunt Lydia as he tries to reform Gilead and rise in power. June, Luke, and Moira fight Gilead from a distance as they continue their mission to save and reunite with Hannah. The cast includes Elisabeth Moss, Yvonne Strahovski, Bradley Whitford, Max Minghella, O-T Fagbenle, Samira Wiley, Ann Dowd, Madeline Brewer, Amanda Brugel and Sam Jaeger.

Naomi Watts stars in Prime Video’s Goodnight Mommy, streaming on Sept. 16. A remake of the 2014  Australian horror film, twin brothers (Nicholas and Cameron Crovetti) suspect that their bandaged mother (Watts) is not who she says she is.

Slumberland drops on Netflix on Nov. 18.

After her father Peter (Kyle Chandler) is unexpectedly lost at sea, young Nemo’s (Marlow Barkley) idyllic Pacific Northwest existence is completely upended when she is sent to live in the city with her well-meaning but deeply awkward uncle Phillip (Chris O’Dowd). Her new school and new routine are challenging by day but at night, a secret map to the fantastical world of Slumberland connects Nemo to Flip (Jason Momoa), a rough-around-the-edges but lovable outlaw who quickly becomes her partner and guide.

Wednesday debuts on Netflix this fall. The featurette gives fans deeper insight into this series’ take on the beloved Addams Family daughter and the casting of Jenna Ortega. Featured talent includes executive producer and director Tim Burton, showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, Catherine Zeta-Jones and more.

Central Park returns on Apple TV+ on Sept. 9 with 3 new episodes, followed by new weekly episodes every Friday. In the third season, Bitsy continues her relentless pursuit to buy the park, Owen embarks on a new promotional campaign to make more people fall in love with it and Paige finds herself busier than ever when she lands her first book deal. The voice cast includes Josh Gad (Series Co-Creator), Tituss Burgess, Daveed Diggs, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Emmy Raver-Lampman, Stanley Tucci and Kristen Bell.
