The primary focus of the Online News Editor is to set, maintain, and
enforce high quality journalistic standards for the online properties of
the New York Times Company Broadcast Media Group. The ideal candidate is a
problem solver and self-starter who thrives in a collaborative work
environment. H/She will reinforce online editorial standards for news
operations; oversee development and enforcement of on-line style guide;
identify opportunities to share news stories between station websites,
business units and those with national appeal; edits materials for target
audiences integrating compelling text, still images, audio- and video-file
components, and links to relevant Internet resources to develop a complete
story; h/she will possess online acumen to provide added value to reports
initially developed by broadcast reporters; check lead graphic/text
consistency and use of graphics on site. The ideal candidate should possess
at least two years’ experience and a Journalism degree or equivalent
experience.
