Love is in the Air Again as Netflix Drops Bridgerton Season 2 Trailer

By Jessica Lerner

Netflix gave us just enough in the newly-released trailer for Bridgerton’s second season to have us counting down the days until the new episodes drop on March 25.

In the three-minute trailer, we get a taste of what’s to come in the second season, and it’s electric.

Lord Anthony Bridgerton’s (Jonathan Bailey) and newcomer Kate Sharma’s (Simone Ashley) much-anticipated relationship is at the heart of the season, but this courtship is far more complicated than we first thought.

Bridgerton follows Lord Anthony Bridgerton’s search for love this season. The first season focused on Daphne Bridgerton’s (Phoebe Dynevor) and Duke of Hastings’ (Regé-Jean Page) courtship. This season, Dynevor will return, although Page will not be repeating his role as everyone’s favorite duke. However, the teaser has enough exciting moments (intense croquet matches, flirty banter, wistful looks, grandiose ballrooms) to pique our interest in the new season.

Per the official synopsis, “Driven by his duty to uphold the family name, Anthony’s search for a debutante who meets his impossible standards seems ill-fated until Kate and her younger sister Edwina (Charithra Chandran) Sharma arrive from India. When Anthony begins to court Edwina, Kate discovers the true nature of his intentions—a true love match is not high on his priority list—and decides to do everything in her power to stop the union. But in doing so, Kate and Anthony’s verbal sparring matches only bring them closer together, complicating matters on both sides.”

Meanwhile, “across Grosvenor Square, the Featheringtons must welcome the newest heir to their estate while Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) continues to navigate the ton whilst keeping her deepest secret from the people closest to her.”
