Lost Remote reboots with new local focus

By Cory Bergman

For 11 years, Lost Remote has been writing about how technology will revolutionize the local media business. Now at the dawn of a new decade, the revolution is here, and we just relaunched as a one-stop site for the latest developments in the exploding local space, from hyperlocal to location-aware mobile.

And I’m excited to announce that a familiar name is back! Steve Safran, who was managing editor of Lost Remote for several years, has returned as the editor of the site. I’ll be contributing here and there, along with Mark Briggs, a local media entrepreneur and author of the new book Journalism Next.

I’ll let Steve explain more, but our goal with the new Lost Remote is to look ahead and avoid the hand-wringing around the failures of local media. These are times of unprecedented innovation and opportunity in local, and that’s where we’ll focus our coverage.
