Hulu + Live TV Announces Monthly Discount to Mark the Start of NFL Season

By Jessica Lerner

To mark the imminent start of the 2022-’23 NFL season (only two days away!), Hulu is offering a new discount for its Hulu + Live TV bundle. New and qualified returning members can receive $20 off Hulu + Live TV for three months starting at 1 p.m. PT or 4 p.m. ET today, Sept. 6, saving them up to $60 in total. The promotion will be accessible at www.hulu.com/live-tv until 11:59 p.m. PT on Oct. 5.

The Hulu + Live TV services include over 75 live channels for sports, news and entertainment, along with access to the entire Hulu library, unlimited DVR space, Disney+ and ESPN+.

Streaming has been a big part of the NFL’s business as of late.

The league recently debuted its own streaming service NFL+, which offers live local and national audio, out-of-market preseason games, regular season games live in local prime time, and postseason games live (only on mobile and tablet). It also offers on-demand access to NFL Network shows and NFL Films archives.

As a replacement for NFL Game Pass in the United States, the package is an expansion of the league’s current DTC offering.

And when the present agreement with DirecTV expires in 2023, the NFL is also seeking a streaming partner to take over the Sunday Ticket package from them. For that package, which offers customers access to NFL games that aren’t broadcast in their local TV market, Apple and Amazon are apparently in the lead.
