Ewan McGregor Returns as Obi-Wan Kenobi in Trailer For New Disney+ Series

The battle between light and dark continues as Disney+ released the teaser trailer for the upcoming Star Wars series, Obi-Wan Kenobi. The series will premiere Wednesday, May 25 on Disney+.

Ewan McGregor reprises his role from the Star Wars prequel films as Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, who suffered a crushing defeat when his star pupil and friend Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) succumbed to the dark side, becoming the evil Sith Lord Darth Vader. Obi-Wan Kenobi takes place 10 years later after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of The Sith.

Moses Ingram (The Queens Gambit) will play Inquisitor Reva, a force-sensitive Jedi hunter who will prove to be a formidable foe to Obi-Wan. Joel Edgerton returns as Owen Lars, who has been tasked by Obi-Wan to raise his nephew, Luke Skywalker. Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie will round out the cast of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Deborah Chow will direct all eight episodes of the series. Obi-Wan Kenobi is executive produced by Chow, McGregor, Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan and Joby Harold.
