Paramount+ has ordered the adult animated series Everybody Still Hates Chris.

The project is based on the critically-acclaimed series Everybody Hates Chris, which aired on the CW from 2005-2009. The show starred Rock as the narrator, along with Terry Crews and Tichina Arnold as Rock’s parents. Tequan Richmond and Imani Hakim played Rock’s younger siblings, Drew and Tonya. The series takes inspiration from Rock’s experiences growing up as a skinny nerd in a working-class family in Brooklyn during the late 1980s.

In addition to his executive producer role, Rock will also narrate the animated series. Sanjay Shah (King of the Hill, South Park, Central Park) will serve as showrunner and executive producer with Ali LeRoi (Everybody Hates Chris), Michael Rotenberg and Dave Becky. The half-hour animated series is produced by CBS Studios and 3 Arts Entertainment.

This also marks another significant in-house collaboration for CBS with Chris McCarthy and our valued partners at MTV Entertainment Studios as we jointly support this marquee series for Paramount+ and Comedy Central.”
