Disney+ Releases Trailer for Star Wars Series Andor

Disney+ revealed a new teaser trailer for the Star Wars series Andor during Star Wars Celebration, taking place in Anaheim, CA, on May 26. Diego Luna, who reprises his role from 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, was at the event to present the trailer and said, “When I was doing the film, I did every day as though it was my last. I didn’t know this was possible.”

Also in attendance was Andor showrunner Tony Gilroy, who explained the series would serve as a prequel to Rogue One. “We’re going to rewind five years back…we’ve already shot 12 episodes!” Luna also added, “You’re not going to recognize Cassian Andor in the beginning. I cannot wait for you to meet him.”

In Rogue One, Cassian Andor was a member of the Alliance who was instrumental during a climactic suicide mission against the Empire.

Andor will focus on Cassian’s journey to becoming part of the rebellion against the Empire. The cast includes Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough and Kyle Soller. Executive producers are Kathleen Kennedy, Sanne Wohlenberg, Luna and Michelle Rejwan.

The first two episodes of Andor will premiere on Disney+ on August 31.
