Publishers Weekly reports that, in addition to making attendance light at the London Book Fair, that damned volcano (pictured) is making it hard for British writers to come to the U.S. for book tours and release parties.

According to the article, W.W. Norton canceled its celebration on Wednesday for author Martin Stannard, who wrote Muriel Spark: The Biography. And Henry Holt canceled its release party and tour for John Banville, for his new Benjamin Black novel, Elegy.

Know of any other local events that have been canceled or postponed due to volcanic ash? Let us know.
