I couldn’t resist LOLcatting this photo of John Prendergast, the author of Not on Our Watch, making an animated conversational point with Sebastian Junger (The Perfect Storm, A Death in Belmont). The two were among the 78 authors who came to the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., last Thursday night for the 30th annual NPC Book Fair. Approximately 750 readers came, contributing funds to Eric Friedheim National Journalism Library, a nonprofit division of the Club which hosts a variety of programming, including literary events, as well as sponsoring scholarships and awards.

Among other highlights of the Fair: Rita Cosby showed NPC member Todd Fielding the juicy bits in her Anna Nicole Smith bio, Blonde Ambition, while Robert Duvall met up with Akbar Ahmed, former Pakistani ambassador to the United Kingdom, current chair of Islamic Studies at D.C.’s American University, and the author of Journey to Islam.
