J. Courtney Sullivan hangs out at the doorway to Rouge, in the basement of Paris Commune, chatting with guests at Tuesday night’s party celebrating the publication of her relationship guide, Dating Up: Dump the Schlump and Find a Quality Man. I missed the representative from Gawker, but I was delighted to run into outgoing Kirkus and Book Standard managing editor Chuck Shelton in one of his final industry gatherings before decamping to Florence. I also met Sullivan’s fellow 5Spot author, Megan Crane, in town to visit family and touch base with her publisher about the imminent publication of her third novel, Frenemies, as well as Kelly Bare, who’s just published her own relationship guide (The F Word: A Fiancée Shares Her Story, From “I Will” to “I Do”) grounded a column she wrote for Tango back when she was the magazine’s deputy editor.
