Rakesh Satyal to Join Atria Books as Senior Editor

Rakesh Satyal has been hired as Senior Editor at Atria. He will report to Peter K. Borland, VP & Editorial Director, at Atria Books.

Satyal will be charged with acquiring nonfiction books with an emphasis on “narrative-driven” writing. He’ll consider books in pop culture, biography, memoir, current events and emerging trends.

Satyal has worked for Doubleday Broadway, Random House and HarperCollins, where he rose the ranks and became Senior Editor. He has worked with a number of authors including: Clive Barker, Paulo Coelho, Armistead Maupin, Paul Rudnick, Miranda Seymour and Terry Castle. He most recently worked for Lexicon Branding as a Creative Strategist.

Satyal is a graduate of Princeton University and has also taught in the publishing program at NYU’s School for Continued and Professional Studies. Satyal begins his new post on February 9th.
