Columbia Pictures and Frederick Warne & Co., a division of Penguin Random House UK, have established a new partnership. The two companies announced plans to create a live-action/CG film adaptation inspired by Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit series.
Will Gluck has come on board as the director. The cast includes James Corden, Rose Byrne, Daisy Ridley, and Elizabeth Debicki with Corden providing the voice for Peter.
Here’s more from the press release: “Sony Pictures Entertainment will create and execute a worldwide licensing and merchandising program in connection with the new Peter Rabbit™ motion picture, in association with Warne. Production on Peter Rabbit is due to commence in January 2017, and is due for worldwide release in April 2018.”
