Peter Borland Promoted to VP of Atria Books

peter_borlandPeter Borland has been promoted to vice president/editor-in-chief of Atria Books and Washington Square Press.

Borland joined Atria in 2004 as a senior editor and became editorial director in 2008. During his tenure with the company, he has helped the publisher develop and grow its list. He has edited and acquired a number of bestsellers including the memoirs: Unbearable Lightness by Portia de Rossi; I’m Over All That by Shirley MacLaine; History of a Suicide by Jill Bialosky; and My Father the Pornographer by Chris Offutt. He was also central to the launch of Keywords Press.

“Peter’s many contributions are writ large in both our day-to-day and long-term success at Atria Books, and so I know you will join me in congratulating him on his well-deserved promotion to Editor-in-Chief,” said Judith Curr, president and publisher of Atria Books, in an email to staffers about the appointment.
