Peek at the Kirkus Reviews Editorial Calendar

By Jason Boog

kirkus.jpgThis week we reported that Herbert Simon–the owner of the Indiana Pacers and “chairman emeritus” of the Simon Property Group–has purchased Kirkus Reviews. We wondered, along with the publishing world, what will the celebrated book review look like with new ownership?

To find out more, we caught up with the review’s editor, Elaine Szewczyk. She explained: “The Spring/Summer supplement, which will appear in the April 1 issue of Kirkus Reviews, is done. It will be a preview of upcoming books, with a special section for mysteries and thrillers.”

We also took a peek at an email discussing upcoming supplements at Kirkus Reviews. According to that memo, the April 15th edition will be a “Nonfiction” supplement. Read the rest of the calendar, after the jump.
