No One is Illegal (Haymarket Books) is a collaborative effort between authors Justin Akers Chacón and Mike Davis. This is my Book of Color Pick of the Day! No One is Illegal exposes the racist intent behind anti-immigrant vigilantes and puts a human face on the immigrants who risk their lives daily to cross the American border and work in the country. Chacón and Davis show readers the thoughts and ideas hidden behind the often violent right-wing backlash against immigrants. Their research reveals the deep roots of hatred within U.S. History and documents the new civil rights movement, aimed at demanding justice and dignity for immigrants.

Justin Akers Chacón is a professor of U.S. History and Chicano Studies in San Diego, California. He has contributed to the International Socialist Review and Immigration: Opposing Viewpoints, the book. Mike Davis is the author of City of Quartz, The Monster at Our Door, and Planet of Slums. He is a teacher in the Department of History at the University of California at Irvine. Julian Cardona, the illustrator, immigrated from the border of Juarez as a young child. He became a photojournalist in 1993 and has received a Cultural Freedom Fellowship from the Lannan Foundation.
