National Book Foundation Calls for Submissions; Reveals Judges

The National Book Foundation is now accepting entries for the 2016 National Book Awards.

The organization also revealed the judges for the prestigious award. Each category — Fiction, Nonfiction, Poetry, and Young People’s Literature — has a panel of five judges. The judges include writers, literacy advocates, as well as a political commentator, among others. We’ve got the complete list of judges in each category after the jump.

The longlist will be announced on October 12. The winners will be revealed on November 16 at the awards ceremony in New York.

Fiction panel:  James English (Chair), Karen Joy Fowler, T. Geronimo Johnson, Julie Otsuka, Jesmyn Ward
